Gastro-cultural events organizer Fine Dining Stars is delighted to showcase the flavours of Chile at Mercado Chileno and to bring the attendees through a gastronomic journey, tasting some of the most typical country's dishes.
Mercado Chileno is much more than a wine event; it is a unique opportunity to taste more than 200 fine wines from more than 40 Chilean producers while being completely surrounded by the typical Chilean cultural atmosphere, with music, crafts, travel features and...food! Event organizer, Wines of Chile, is gathering under one roof la crème de la crème of the wine world. The Three Wine Men celebrities, Oz Clarke, Olly Smith and Tim Atkin MW will be at the market with some precious tips about everything wine while Decanter World Wine Awards table will showcase a snapshot of Chile’s 2015 winning wines for visitors to try.
As wine tastes even better with food, visitors should not miss Fine Dining Stars cooking demonstrations for a chance to learn how to make a scrumptious Chilean style salmon ceviche with avocado and merken, taste some delicious regional food like pan amasado with pebre, blueberry and peaches kuchen and alfajores and discover something more about the Chilean culinary culture, the origins of the recipes and ingredients. Susy Atkins, wine writer for the Sunday Telegraph and also a regular on BBC's Saturday Kitchen will be with us at Mercado Chileno to help link up the food and wine side of Chilean life!
Chilean cuisine is the product of the combination of ingredients and culinary habits of native cultures like the Mapuche, Atacameño and Aymara with the Spanish customs brought in by the conquistadores. With an extensive geography that stretches over 4,000 kilometres from North to South, Chile is blessed with a variety of climates and landscapes and a unique biodiversity. We have selected some of the best known Chilean products and will make you taste some appetizing samples to accompany your vino with.
Managing Director, Veronica Grimaldi Hinojosa said: "We are thrilled to bring Chilean culture into tasty bites to Mercado Chileno. London foodies are such avid discoverers of foreign cuisines and the Nueva Cocina Chilena is gaining so much popularity for its innovative use of native products and sophisticated fusion of the different regions' culinary traditions."
Don't miss the greatest wine day of the year at Mercado Chileno!
